Liver diseases are difficult to diagnose because of its symptoms which can be vague and easily confused with other health problems. Some tests and procedures used to diagnose liver failure include: Blood test and Pro-thrombin time test. Blood tests to determine how well your liver is functioning may include the pro-thrombin time test, which measures how long it takes your blood to clot.
