Yuming Wang M.D. Professor and Chief Physician Institute for Infectious Diseases, Southwest Hospital, Third Military Medical University, Chongqing. Currently serves as the vice president in Infectious Diseases Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Current research fields include severe hepatitis/liver failure, pathogenesis and treatment of viral hepatitis. Chief Editor of 16 monographs, associated editor for 31 monographs. Has published more than 400 papers, including Gastroenterology, Hepatology and CGH.

Professor Roger Williams is a British medical doctor specialising in hepatology (treatment of pathalogical conditions of the liver). He is currently serves as a Director for the Institute of Hepatology, an independent research organisationsupported by the Foundation for Liver Research, a UK registered charity which he set up in 1973. Roger Williams was part of the medical team that performed the first liver transplant in the UK in 1968. Since 2010 Professor Williams, aged 83, has been a Visiting Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, exploiting a generous funding from the Saudi Biomarkers Research Programme. He has been honoured with a number of awards over the years, notable the Lifetime Achievement Awards including one from the British Association for the Study of the Liver (2003) and the Distinguished Achievement Award of the American Association for the Study of the Liver (2013.

Prof. Dr. Amin El-Gohary completed his MBBCh in 1972 and his Diploma in General Surgery in 1975 at Cairo University, Egypt. Prof. He became the Chief and Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of a large government hospital. He also held post as the Clinical Dean of Gulf Medical College, Ajman for 3 years. Prof. Dr. Amin is well known in Abu Dhabi for his extensive interest and involvement in scientific activities. He is the President of the Pediatric Surgical Association of UAE. Prof. Dr. Amin is a member of several associations in Paediatric surgery: Executive Member of the International Society of Intersex and Hypospadias Disorder (ISHID), British Association of Pediatric Surgery, Egyptian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, and Pan African Association of Pediatric Surgery. He is also the founder and member of the Arab Association of Pediatric Surgeons.

Prof. Dr. Amin has an intensive academic and teaching experience, has written several publications in distinguished medical journals, and has made several poster and paper presentations in national and international conferences. Currently, he is an external examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.

Kimlin Ashing, Ph.D., professor and director of City of Hope’s Center of Community Alliance for Research and Education (CCARE), is a researcher focused on improving and expanding care for underserved populations. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She spent 12 years conducting research at the University of California, Los Angeles advancing theoretical and methodological approaches as a behavioural scientist and psycho-oncologist. She serves on the Executive council of Los Angeles American Cancer Society (ACS) and The Intercultural Council on Cancer (ICC).

Dr. Ashing is the notable leader in examining cancer disparities, quality of life and survivorship, and has published over 50 articles and book chapters. Currently, she is developing and implementing community participatory interventions to reduce the risk and burden of chronic illness, in particular cancer. Dr. Ashing has almost 20 years experience in health disparities, behavioral health, minority engagement in research and cancer related population outcomes research. She has published seminal work on the inclusion of cultural, social and ecological domains in investigating patient centered outcomes with a focus on health disparities and increasing recruitment/retention of minority populations in research.

Professor Selden is an experienced researcher in the field of hepatology and one of the lead researchers on the Bio-Artificial Liver project. After completing her PhD at the University of London she held a number of research posts; principally with the Gastroenterology Unit of the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, but also with the Experimental Medicine Unit at the Wellcome Medical Research Institute in New Zealand. Currently she holds the post of Reader in the Department of Medicine within the Royal Free Campus of the University College Medical School.

Prof. Clare Selden research interest"A Bioartificial Liver machine". The Liver Group Charity was started to help us raise enough money to carry out the research for developing a liver machine to treat patients with liver disease as much as kidney dialysis does for patients with kidney disease today.

Hendrik Reynaert, MD, PhD is professor of physiology and pathophysiology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is head of the hepatology unit at the university hospital Brussels (UZBrussel) and senior researcher in the liver cell biology lab at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is past president of the Belgian Association for study of the liver (BASL) and current president of the Flemish Society of Gastroenterology (VVGE). He is member of many national and international societies, including AASLD, EASL, and AGA.

He is interested in many aspects of liver disease, including cirrhosis and its complications, viral hepatitis and non-alcoholic liver disease (NAFLD).

Dr. Zsuzsanna Gerlei is currently working in Semmelweis University, Department of Transplantation and Surgery. Dr. Zsuzsanna Gerlei has 40 publications.

Dr. Sanjiv Saigal, a trained Hepatologist, has spearheaded the medical team of liver transplantation in the largest liver transplant program in India for over a decade now, with an experience in dealing with more than 1500 liver transplants, including both cadaveric and living donor liver transplants. He is presently the Director of Transplant Hepatology at Medanta - The Medicity, Gurgaon which is the busiest liver transplant centre in India performing about 25 liver transplants every month with a success rate of over 90%.

Besides clinical work, he holds keen interest in academics and research. Dr Saigal has numerous publications with over 130 presentations in national and international forums to his credit. He has received numerous awards including the Calcutta University Gold Medal, National Pfizer award, INLAKS Fellowship in liver transplantation in King’s College Hospital, London etc. He is a member of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MAMS).
